I am hoping to become a CM again because I really miss the atmosphere and the company in general. Last time I worked for Disney I was a V.I.P. and Celebrity guest turndown service at the Grand Floridian. I so much enjoyed comming to work. My vehicle broke down and I didn't have the money to replace it as I was a single mother & had only been working w/ Disney for about 5 weeks. My Supervisor gave me two weeks off to get this fixed. When I called at the end of these 2 wks I was crying because I didn't want to lose my Job, and couldn't get the vehicle repaired. Rob was so nice and still gave me a rehirable status, and he told me I could re-apply at anytime. It has been about 5 years, I can't help but wonder if he might still work there. Now I am remarried and doing well. Still I miss being there at Disney. I will be moving to Kissimmee at the end of July and I have already put in my application. I am applying for food runner / roomservice, or Bell service. I am only wishing there was more I could do to let the hiring associates know how much I really would like to be working with WDW again. Any Advice? Thank you!

Hope,
Lakeland, FL
I am a former cm now on the rehire waitlist at WDW. I have missed being a part of the magic. Anyone have any idea on how long people are waiting on the list?
Unfortunatly one of my problems is that I don't have a greencard to live and work legally in the USA, and I know that there are two jobs I was born for. Since I am an animation artist and I work in animation I know that working at The Walt Disney Animation Studios is the biggest dream of my life ( or maybe at Pixar since is part of the WDC)
And my second dream job would be as a CM at WDW or Disneyland...
Why? I have not idea why.. I just know that I love Disney, the Theme Parks, most of the movies and music... it is a passion that sometimes is impossible to describe with words... you just have to feel it and breath it.
Fernando.

I am a new Cast Member.  I was 13 on my first visit to the Magic Kingdom.  I am now 44 years old, and have been an annual passholder on and off for the past 14 years.  I recently became unemployed, and after talking it over with my Hubby, I decided now was the time to try to fulfill another dream.  My first dream job was working for NASA.  Due to the demise of the Shuttle Program, I could no longer work there.  My second dream job of working for Disney has now come to pass.  I am working at DAK at the Flame Tree BBQ, so if you're there, stop by and say hi!

Do not wait until you become an old person (trust me I am in no way old) to try to enjoy what you do.  Don't call Casting.  Go to WDW Careers Hourly and see what's available.  If you are at Downtown Disney, stop into Casting and fill out your application and see if they can interview you.  What have you got to loose?  Good Luck!

I don't even know where to begin, there are so many reasons why. Here are my top 9

  1. I want to help give other people what I recived from Disney: magic.
  2. Disney provides a haven for the young and young at heart in a world that can be cruel.
  3. Just the sight of a Mickey silhouette puts the BIGGEST smile on my face.
  4. I love the look on peoples' faces when they see anything Disney. You can see happiness growing!
  5. I love that one man's idea became the dreams and wishes of many.
  6. I love to wear uniforms!! This may sound silly but I come from a military family. (Donald was in the military)
  7. I love WDW! (I know that visting is diffrent than working but with the right attitude work can be fun!)
  8. and last but not least: I have a degree in theater specializing in costumes, hair, and make-up
  9. It is my dream.

Thank you for asking. I just hope I will be hired!

I would love to be a CM when I graduate College! I would do any job there but would like to be an event planner or a wish maker. I love Disney World been every year since I was 3 my family is DVC members. Just being at the parks always me smile and what better place to work then the place you love Disney World! I have a degree in Family and Consumer Science which mean i have studied child and family studies, taken many decorating class, hotel/resort planning and event planning classes! My degree covers so many jobs at Disney hope they hire me

Reply to Angela,

Why wait until you graduate from college.  Come and be a part of the magic as a College Program Cast Member.  You should really look into it.  You have the choice of starting in the spring or fall, you represent your college, and work in one of the parks.  You have an apartment to share with other college students, and although the apartment fees are taken out of your paycheck, it's guaranteed.  Check it out!

I have thought about it Marina but I had friends who did that and they hated it got told they were going to be in plays and characters and ended up walking around picking up trash! And my college said it be best if i did an internship that is my main focus incase I don't get a job at Disney I already understand the back ground for that job. I am however looking into the professional internship

Walt Disney World is so magical.  Its the little things that make it the most awesome travel destination.  My husband is disabled, and there is nothing he cannot enjoy at WDW.  The background music just puts you in a good mood, and the parks are so clean and welcoming.  All of the castmembers are so helpful.  I just want to be a part of that magic!

I live in Columbia Tennessee. I have an annual pass to Disney World because I go there three times a year. All my vacations are spent at Disney World. I have been working for The Home Depot for fourteen years as an assistant store manager. I gave up my position to move to Orlando in hopes of getting a position with Disney World. I will be moving there March 6th. Any advice anyone has for me will be very much appreciate. I had an interview in November of 2011. I am willing to do anything Disney has available. Looking forward to hearing from anyone.

Thank you and have a Magical Day

Bill

I also miss being a cast member. I did the college program in 2001 and 2003. I was also a campus rep. I have kept connections all these years with some other cast members. I just graduated with my bachelors last May. I have decided to go and work at WDW again. I have spoken to casting a few times with lots of questions. I did find out that I am eligible for rehire. I am trying harder than ever to get a full time job where I live now. Right now I have a part time job working at a law library. I want to save up a years worth of living expenses before I move back to Orlando and apply for a job. I am hoping form the time I get a job to be a year to a year and a half before I move. Already started looking at apartments. I am so excited.
