Thank you WDW for being so Handicap friendly.

My husband had a tumor removed from his spine several years ago and thankfully he can still walk but has permanent nerve damage in one of his legs. Because of this, he needs a cane for longer walks and needs to sit down quite often. We could NEVER make it down there if it weren't for Disney and their castmembers giving him a disabled pass to get on the rides quicker. It would be out of the question 100% because sometimes those lines can be quite long and even with a fast pass, it would be tough…See More

Sure. First of all, even the most junior pilot at an airline has been through a rigorous training program to get where (s)he is. Crews are well trained and drilled, spending several days every six months in simulators practicing for almost any kind of problem that can be encountered, mechanical or weather.

Secondly, aircraft today are safer than in any time in the 100+ years of powered flight. They have been designed and made (even those from 40 years ago) to be strong, dependable, tough, and most of all, safe. Their systems are maintained better than any car you've ever gotten into, and if the crew finds something...even something "minor"...we will not take off until we are assured of 100% safe operation of the systems.

Third, and most importantly, the flight crew has a vested interest that the flight be safely operated. I mean, whatever happens to anyone on the airplane happens to us first. We're going to do everything to get that plane up, over, and down because we're up there with you as well.

Don't worry...we're gonna take care of you...
